HARVARD — At the most recent Parks and Recreation Commission meeting we discussed the Devens Disposition Executive Board’s scenario 2B proposal.

Included in Key Disposition Elements for Harvard is the following line item: “Reciprocal access to Harvard and Devens recreational facilities under terms provided to residents.”

The Parks and Recreation Commission is not in favor of this item of the proposal.

The beach is a valuable town recreational resource and it is already in need of expansion to handle the town’s current usage. Adding the residents of 1,300 additional homes would have a great impact on the beach.

Please consider this as you proceed with the disposition process. — Parks and Recreation Commission members Donald Ashe, Royall Cregar, Jim Lee, Eric Peterson and Charlotte Winchell
