Several articles have been written recently regarding the work being done at the Shirley Middle School. I would like to take this time to express that it is being done as a team effort and extend my personal thanks and acknowledgment to those who have given their particular talents and donated time to help correct the problems that exist at the middle school.

First off, thanks to Shirley resident Randy Graves who is providing electrical support, and to Joe Spencer, who currently works at the Middle School, for his time spent supporting the efforts with his working knowledge of the building. There have also been volunteers who do not live in Shirley. They include: John and Joe Nardone, electrician from Medford and his son; Joe Coleman, electrician from Waltham; Bob Thayer, electrician from Medway; and Steve and Steve Costa Jr., sheet metal and air conditioning from Methuen.

This is a true example of people giving of themselves when they see a need and bringing their talents to bear! This is what being part of a community is all about.
