AYER — Nashoba Valley Medical Center (NVMC) in Ayer and the Country Florist in Pepperell recently collaborated to bring hot meals and fresh flowers to several Pepperell residents. Free dinner from Caf Nashoba and flowers from the Country Florist were delivered to families whose names were provided by the Montachusett Home Care Corporation in Leominster.
This was the kick-off event for what is a year-long program of providing free meals and flowers in surrounding communities called “Help in Bloom.” Help in Bloom was announced in NVMC’s 2006 calendar.
Throughout 2006, NVMC will partner will local service organizations, restaurants, food stores and florists to provide this service once a month. Florists also have the opportunity to display an arrangement in the newly re-decorated lobby of the hospital.
NVMC is also posting health tips each week on their Web site: www.nashobamed.com for anyone who is interested. Health advice and facts appear each week, and there is a link to send for a free calendar or ask health questions.
If your organization would like to be considered for Help In Bloom in the coming months, or if you are a florist or food establishment and would like to participate, call the Public Relations Department at (978) 784-9209.
