AYER — At the Ayer Education Foundation’s first meeting of the new year, held Monday at the Page Hilltop School, the board voted to appoint Sheila Kelly to its board of directors.
Kelly comes to the foundation with over a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector in northern California. She will assist the board with its spring grant cycle and manage community relations. Kelly resides in Ayer with her husband and two children.
On the financial front, the foundation treasurer John Kilcommins reported that the its efforts in 2005 — its first year — brought in approximately $36,000, which added significantly to the grant pool. The board also discussed launching an annual giving campaign for fall 2006.
In other news, the foundation published its spring newsletter for 2006, and it will soon be available on the Web site at www.ayer.mec.edu. The newsletter addresses the upcoming road race in May, the spring grant cycle and the foundation’s new GROWS program.
