TAP Basketball Tournament

The 12th Annual TAP Basketball Tournament will be held from March 10 through March 19, 2006. The tournament will consist of eight divisions: fifth grade girls, fifth grade boys, sixth grade girls, sixth grade boys, seventh grade girls, seventh grade boys, eighth grade girls, and eighth grade boys. No AAU, Junior Olympic of mixed league teams are allowed. The tournament will be double elimination with a maximum of 12 teams per division. New Slow Pitch Softball League

Devens is looking to start a 12-team, two division men’s slow pitch softball league. Games will be played Monday through Thursday nights. The league will start in April. NM Slow-Pitch Softball League expanding

The North Middlesex Slow-Pitch Softball League is an established league in its 18th year. It is a semi-competitive league with games on Sunday mornings from May through September. All regular games are nine innings long. The league is looking to expand and teams are needed. Don’t wait until the last minute as new entries will be on a first come, first served basis. GD football/cheerleading information night

Groton Dunstable football and cheerleading parent information night will be held on Thursday, Feb. 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Groton Dunstable Regional High School Black Box Theater.

Topics to be discussed include Groton Dunstable football and cheerleading review, by David Howes, and Groton Dunstable Regional High School football review, by GD Athletic Director Dan Twomey.

GD Youth Lacrosse registrations

Groton Dunstable Youth Lacrosse is still looking for girls to sign up for the U-11 (grades 3 &4), U-13 (grades 5 & 6), and U-15 (grades 7 & 8). Groton Dunstable Youth Lacrosse is taking registrations for its “stick” league. This is a co-ed program for K-2nd graders. All the necessary equipment, except mouth guards, will be provided. Townsend LL Signups extended

Townsend Little League registration and player evaluation has been extended to Feb. 16. Any registration received after that date will be assessed a late fee of $15/player and placement will be on a space available basis. You may register at Hawthorne Brook Gym on Feb. 9 or 16 between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. or contact mscobleigh@earthlink.net for a registration form. Player evaluations will be held at Hawthorne Brook Gym on Feb. 9 and 16 as follows: Softball 5:30-6:15; Baseball AA level 6:15-7:00 and Major 7:00-8:30 p.m. Players ages 8-12 who wish to move up a division must attend one of these tryouts.
