World Day of Prayer

TOWNSEND — World Day of Prayer will be celebrated at Townsend United Methodist Church on Friday, March 3. The church will be open to the public for individuals and groups to come at any time between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. for a time of prayer and meditation. World Day of Prayer is a celebration of prayer in over 170 countries. Traditionally on the first Friday in March, people of many traditions and ages celebrate this common day of prayer.

‘Prayer, praise and seeking Biblical truth together’

FITCHBURG — The Zion House of Prayer, 104 High St., Fitchburg (the home of the Rev. Jim and Jan Gunn), will host “Prayer, praise and seeking Biblical truth together,” on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. There is ample parking in driveway. For more information, call (978) 345-5758. There will also be a celebration of Holy Communion following the study on the first Wednesday of the month. Healing prayer is available by appointment.

LITTLETON –The Congregational Church of Littleton invites students in grade nine, as well as those in grades 10 to 12 who haven’t yet been confirmed, to sign up for confirmation classes at the church, 330 King St., Littleton. During the classes, students will explore their faith, leading to an opportunity to affirm baptismal vows by becoming a member of the church. Confirmation classes will be led by the Rev. Vern Swett and Gail Wright and will start on Sunday, Feb. 5. On that date there will be an orientation for parents and teens immediately after the 10:15 a.m. worship service.
