LUNENBURG — Louis P. Racine, 77, of 202 Whalom Rd., died Saturday, Jan. 28, at his residence.

Racine is survived by his wife of 56 years, Evelyn M. (Eastman) Racine; two sons, Wayne P. Racine, of Townsend, and Ricky Racine, of Fitchburg; two daughters, Susan Boggs Lightfoot and Mary Bennett, both of Townsend. He also leaves 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was the father of David Racine who died in September 1998.

Racine was born in Fitchburg on Sept. 25, 1928, a son of Peter and Marguerite (LeQuire) Racine, and resided in Townsend for many years before moving to Lunenburg in 1987.

Racine worked as a self-employed carpenter before retiring in 1979.

During WW II he served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He had attended St. John the Evangelist Church in Townsend.

A gathering of remembrance for family and friends will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 2 p.m., at Donnelley’s Tavern, 43 Summer St., Lunenburg.

The T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 250 Main St., Townsend, is assisting the family with arrangements.
