THORNTON Mass. — Kathleen A. Dunlap, 52, of Waterthorn Road, Thornton, died Sunday, Jan. 29, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, after a five-month battle with esophageal cancer. She has been a resident of Thornton since 1988.

Dunlap was born in Denver, Colo., on Sept. 4, 1953, the daughter of the late Val M. and Mary M. (Burns) Johnson. She attended Denver schools.

She worked as a clerk for several area businesses including McKenzie Gear of Lincoln and most recently, Wal-Mart of Plymouth. Dunlap was an outdoor enthusiast. She enjoyed skiing, canoeing, camping, traveling and gardening.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Robert J. Dunlap, of Thornton, formerly of Harvard, Mass.; a daughter, Meghan A. Dunlap, of Bethlehem; a son, Brian J. Dunlap, of Ashland; and a niece and nephew. Calling hours will be on Saturday, from noon to 2 p.m., at the Edmund Fournier Funeral Home, 144 Main St., North Woodstock, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m., with Father John MacKenzie officiating.
