TOWNSEND — At its Monday meeting, the Board of Selectmen (BOS) appointed David Mezza and Lori Roach as emergency medical technicians (EMTs) for the Ambulance Department on a six-month probationary period.
The selectmen also approved some one day liquor licenses to the South Fitchburg Hunting and Fishing Club. Licenses are for a meat raffle to be held on Feb. 12, an ice fishing derby on Feb. 18 and 19, and a 3D archery shoot to be held on Feb. 26.
One day liquor licenses were also approved for the VFW Post # 6538 for a 40th birthday party on Feb. 18, an international dinner on April 21, a fund-raiser on May 6 and a family reunion on Sept. 20.
The board signed a three-year contract to R.E. Brown for audit services. The fiscal year 2006 audit is for $12,000, FY07 is for $12,500 and FY08 is for $13,000.
The selectmen signed an agreement with Weston & Sampson for landfill environmental monitoring and reporting. The agreement will cost $31,000 per year for the next three years.
Finally, the board authorized Chairman Daniel Murphy to sign an agreement between the town and John A. Bowen, of Bowen law office, for title rundown and recording services regarding the Community Development Block Grant for the Regional Housing Rehabilitation Program.
