TOWNSEND — Christina M. (Matheson) Trombly, 101, of 19 Birch Lane, Townsend, died on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at the Life Care Center of Leominster. She was the wife of the late Fred N. Trombly who died in 1982.

Trombly was born in Nova Scotia, Canada on May 11, 1904, the youngest of 10 children born to Norman and Mary (Logan) Matheson, and resided for many years in Nashua, N.H. before moving to Townsend in 1982.

Trombly is survived by a son, James Trombly of Nashua, N.H.; two daughters, Charlotte Hubbard of Townsend and Leona Cook of Falmouth. She also leaves seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Fred Trombly Jr. of Nashua N.H. who died in 1999.

Trombly was a member of the Townsend Senior Citizens. She was presented with the Boston Post Cane in July of 2003 at the age of 99.

A graveside service was be held on Monday, Jan. 9 at the Edgewood Cemetery, 107 Amherst St., Nashua, N.H. T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
