SHIRLEY — Auditions for DANCE, DANCE, DANCE are being held for the next three Wednesday afternoons.

This show is being put on by ShirleyArts! as a benefit for the Shirley Education Foundation. The format will be that of a talent show, with all the acts being some kind of dance. The dancers need to provide their own music, costumes, and choreography.

Elementary school-age students may audition their dance between 3 and 4:30 p.m. at Lura A. White School on Wednesday, Jan. 11. Middle School-age students may audition between 3 and 4:30 p.m. at the SMS theater on Wednesday, Jan. 18. The dance styles may include ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, folk dance, rock ‘n roll or any other kind of dance, as long as it is suitable for a family audience.

The date of Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. will be the last chance for any age to audition or to practice on the stage at the SMS theater.

Shirley school teachers Brenda DeSalvio, Elizabeth Murray and Jessica Sands are helping with the show, which should prove to be a lot of fun for participants and audiences alike.

The performance will be on Sunday, Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. at Shirley Middle School, with the $5 admission tickets available at the door.
