SHIRLEY — The Shirley Historical Society has a variety of Shirley souvenirs for sale during the holiday season. There are reprints of old Shirley history books and new books about Benton MacKaye and poetry by Melvin Longley.
Large numbered and signed prints of the First Parish Meetinghouse have been reduced in price. These are available with or without mats and are suitable for framing. The Meetinghouse is also one of the featured buildings in the Cat’s Meow collection. The other buildings are the Old Town Hall and the new Fire Station.
Also on sale are some souvenirs from the 250th Anniversary celebration. There are sweatshirts and anniversary canvas bags as well as a few oval boxes showing Shirley buildings. Videos of the anniversary parade and some 250th mugs are also still available.
There are many books and pamphlets relating to the Shirley Shaker Village, as well as Shakers in general.
The Museum Gift Shop at 182 Center Rd. is open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Christmas Eve. All purchases benefit Shirley charitable organizations.
