NASHUA, N.H. — The Southern New Hampshire Medical Center Radiology Department announced that Craig Liatsis has been named the new Picture Archival and Communication Systems (PACS) Administrator. Liatsis is responsible for implementing the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center PACS System which is scheduled to go live by summer 2006.

“We are very excited about going to a PACS system,” said Diane Dionne, Director of Radiology at The Medical Center. “PACS will allow us to go filmless and will increase patient access to imaging services by cutting down the waiting and processing times. We are very fortunate to have Craig here to oversee this change.”

Liatsis has extensive experience in PACS implementation. He most recently provided maintenance to the PACS System at Lahey Clinic in Burlington and served as the PACS Administrator for the Emerson Hospital mini-PACS System for Nuclear Medicine. He will coordinate the changeover to a filmless imaging environment at The Medical Center.

PACS technology allows technologists to manipulate images by lighting, darkening and zooming on the computer to make them clearer. It allows physicians to see images immediately, in their office, without waiting for films to be delivered.
