AYER — After brief discussion Tuesday, the selectmen approved a request from the Downtown Business Alliance (DBA) to set up a Christmas tree on the front lawn of the town hall.
The request was presented by DBA member Ed Kelley, who said they were asking both for permission to set up a tree this holiday season and to establish a living tree next year that could be decorated for the holidays.
The request was approved shortly after Kelley confirmed the DBA was willing to pay for the trees.
Kelley said the holiday tree would be part of the DBA’s Christmas celebration on Dec. 4, which will feature a visit from Santa Claus. — Nathan Lamb
