GROTON — A special town meeting is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m., according to Town Clerk Onorina Maloney.

The meeting will be held in the Performing Arts Center (middle school auditorium) at 344 Main Street.

The quorum requirement is 136 voters.

If you are not already a voter and wish to register for the meeting, the Board of Registrars will be holding a special registration session on Friday, Oct. 14, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. You may register in person or by mail and can pick up the proper form at the clerk’s office during regularly scheduled business hours.

The only requirements to become a voter are that you must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age and you must reside in Groton.

The clerk’s office is open Monday, 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Tuesday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and the first and third Saturday of each month (September through June), from 9 a.m. to noon.
