For the past several years our friends and neighbors have been generous in their time and resources supporting our family and the “Bilious Bunch” in our efforts to make a difference in the battle against liver diseases. Through our long illness, transplant and recovery, our Harvard community has been active in helping us directly and walking with us to raise funds for the American Liver Foundation. Our thanks go out to you all, without whom life would be radically different for us. We would like to invite all of you to join the Bilious Bunch for this year’s five-mile Football Walk for Liver Wellness this Sunday, Oct. 9 at Artesani Park in Brighton. Registration at 9 a.m., walk begins at 10:15 a.m.
In 2003, we had 30 people walk with us and raised over $6,500. In 2004, we grew to 60-plus people walking and raised over $16,000. And had a lot fun! Walk with us, invite your friends to walk with us or sponsor a walker. Thank you and welcome aboard to all those who have joined the Bilious Bunch 2005 team. Thanks and hugs to those who have donated on-line or have already sent checks. Your generous contributions continue to make a difference. Check out our Web page at: www.active.com/donate/footballwalkne/biliousbunch.
Liver disease is the ninth leading cause of death in the United States. Tens of thousands of American children from newborns to adolescents are born with or acquire liver diseases, and hundreds of these children die every year.
Your support of the American Liver Foundation will bring a future of promise to the millions of Americans afflicted with liver disease. Your efforts will assist in raising the much needed dollars to fund critical research as well as education and advocacy programs. Join our team today and bring help and hope to the adults and children whose lives depend on the research of tomorrow.
Donations can be made online by visiting the Web site listed above or you can write a check made out to the American Liver Foundation and forward it to us: The Deer Family, 39 Candleberry Lane, Harvard, MA 01451.
Thank you for the continued support and encouragement. Hope to see you on Oct. 9.
