Boosters Breakfast at Dan’s Place
For the eighth consecutive year, Dan’s Place in Ayer will be hosting a benefit breakfast for the Ayer High School Athletic Boosters on Friday, Oct. 7 at approximately 9:00 p.m. (right after the Homecoming football game against Lunenburg). The Boosters Club provides much-needed financial support for the athletic programs at Ayer High School. This event is always a fun evening for all ages, so come out and enjoy good food, good friends, and support our local athletes.

The Ayer Park Department is now accepting applications for the 2005-2006 basketball season. The program is open to players ages kindergarten through eighth grade. Registration forms can be picked up at the Ayer Park Department’s office, the Ayer Post Office or the Ayer Library. Players must register by October 15 or be assessed a late fee. NMYLA free skills clinic
The North Middlesex Youth Lacrosse Association coaching staff will be presenting a free skills clinic on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 3:00 p.m. behind North Middlesex Regional High School. The clinic is for boys in grades 3 through 11 and will cover the basic skills required to play lacrosse. Equipment will be provided for those who need it. Blaze instructional clinics
The North Central Blaze AAU girls basketball club is hosting instructional clinics on Sunday, Nov. 13 and Sunday, Nov. 20 from 5-8 p.m. at the Fitchburg State College Athletic & Recreation Center. Girls basketball players in grades 4-12 are invited. The clinics will focus on instruction in passing, dribbling, shooting, rebounding, defense and game situations. The focus at the older age groups will be on pre-season conditioning and preparation for school-team tryouts. The cost is $20 per player per session or $35 if you attend both sessions. Those who participated on a Blaze team in spring or fall 2005 get a $5 discount for attending both sessions. Players ages 10, 11 and 13 will play from 5-6:30 p.m., followed by ages 12, 14 and 15/16 from 6:30-8:00. TAP Basketball registrations will be held at North Middlesex Regional High School on Saturday Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, Oct. 5 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to noon for boys and girls grades 3-12.
