Nashoba Publishing is once again holding its annual Halloween Essay Contest. We invite children to submit essays on any topic associated with Halloween.

One winner will be chosen in each of four categories: pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, first and second grades, third through fifth grades, and sixth through eighth grades. Students in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten and in first and second grades are welcome to submit a drawn or colored picture in place of an essay.

Entries must be received by Oct. 21 at 5 p.m. to allow time for judging.

Winners will see their essays or drawings and their photos (with parent/guardian permission) published in all six Nashoba Publishing newspapers on Oct. 28, and will receive prizes especially chosen for them. (Shopping for them is a highlight of the year!)

Halloween can be a very enjoyable time of year and we are pleased to provide children with another opportunity to express themselves through writing or drawing. Since this holiday loses some of its excitement as we grow older, sharing it with children brings it all back.

If you have any questions, please contact me at (978) 772-0777, Ext. 247 or at editor@nashobapub.com.
