GROTON -- Artist Margot Stage makes treasures from trash, turning discarded objects into works of art.

Her latest creations are on view through Feb. 28 at the Conant Gallery at Lawrence Academy in the exhibit entitled What's Left Behind.

"I am intrigued by things left behind, overlooked or discarded -- from left-over linings of silk neckties to fallen black locust pods to discarded spools of thread. I take these objects and transform them into sculpture," said Stage, who lives in Westford and has a studio at Western Avenue Studios in Lowell.

With her work, she hopes to "invite a refreshing and often whimsical view of our world."
