TOWNSEND —The Town-send Congregational Church, UCC, will host the lawn party at the Townsend Military Band's June 13 concert on the Townsend Common.
Church members will be serving hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and sausages with peppers and onions. Fresh fruit cups, fried dough, popcorn, root beer floats, hot coffee, and cold soda and bottled water will be available.
Food and beverages will be ready beginning at 6:30 p.m., so that concert attendees may have dinner at the Common. Free-will donations will be accepted for everything. Small bills would be appreciated.
There will be a wide variety of homemade cookies, breads, cakes, pies, and candies to enjoy for dessert or to take home.
An assortment of children's games will be set up on the Common.
The band beings at 7:30 p.m. with "Honor the Founders" by Buckley and Brown's arrangement of "Pixar Movie Magic." The "Al Hirt Medley" arranged by Yoder, Alford's "Colonel Bogey March," and Burden's arrangement of "Fiddler On the Roof" will be performed. Anderson's "Blue Tango", Bennett's arrangement of "The Sound of Music," and "The Liberty Bell March" by Sousa will be included in the first portion of the program.
"That Ragtime Regiment Band," arranged by Lewis and Burden's arrangement of the "Sounds of Simon and Garfunkel" will be played following intermission. The "Poet and Peasant Overture" arranged by Meyrelles and the "March of the Belgian Parachutists" by Leemans will be performed. The performance concludes at 9:30 p.m. by playing the "Star Spangled Banner".
