Police are investigating a motorcycle crash that occurred Friday night and left a Townsend man with serious injuries.
Pepperell Police Chief David Scott said an unidentified 29-year-old Townsend man crashed his motorcycle and skidded about 100 feet before going off the road and striking a rock in the area of Brookline Street.
Officers located the man about 7:10 p.m. just south of Prescott Street. Police believe that the man was driving northbound on Brookline Street when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed due to his speed, according to a press release.
The man suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries, according to police. He was taken to the Pepperell Town Field via ambulance and airlifted to UMass Memorial Medical Center on Worcester for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation by police.
