TOWNSEND -- The Townsend Ashby Youth Baseball Softball organization will host the lawn party at the Townsend Military Band's Thursday, July 27, concert on the Townsend Common.
Members of the organization will be selling hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and cold soda and bottled water to hungry concertgoers. A variety of home baked goods will also be available for purchase.
There will be a bounce house and several baseball themed activities set up on the Common that evening for the enjoyment of the young and young-at-heart attending the concert.
The Townsend Military Band will open its concert at 7:30 p.m. by playing "The Boys of the Old Brigade March" by Chambers and Anderson's "Blue Tango." Buckley's arrangement of "Turkey in the Straw," "Lassus Trombone" by Fillmore, and Barnes' arrangement of "The Wizard of Oz" will be performed. King's "Princess of India" and "The New Colonial March" by Hall will be played during the first portion of the concert.
Following intermission, Mondrone's arrangement of the "Pasadena Day March" and "The Italian in Algiers Overture" arranged by Tobani will be played. Liszt's "Hungarian Rhapsody #2" and Hildreth's arrangement of the "Our Director March" will be performed before the Townsend Band concludes its concert at 9:30 p.m. by playing the "Star Spangled Banner."
