The lawn party to be held in conjunction with the Townsend Military Band's Thursday, July 20, concert on the Townsend Common will benefit the Kids Kountry Playground.

The funds raised will be used to purchase new equipment and to refurbish existing structures at the Kids Kountry Playground, which is located behind the Spaulding Memorial Elementary School at the corner of Eastman Street and Turnpike Road in Townsend.

Hot dogs, hamburgers, and cold soda and bottled water will be available for purchase by concertgoers between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. Ice cream sundaes, root beer floats, orange floats, popcorn, and a variety of homemade baked goods will also be on sale.

Children attending the concert will be able to have their face painted, play in a bounce house, and win prizes by playing the pot luck, noodle smash, and lollipop games.

The Townsend Military Band under the direction of Thomas Souza will open its concert at 7:30 p.m. by playing the "Ragtime Regiment Medley March" arranged by Lewis and Sousa's "Willow Blossoms."
