Library Friends planning NYC trip Dec. 14
Friends of the Townsend Library are planning a trip to New York City on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., at $70 per person.
The trip includes round-trip motor coach transportation and driver gratuity. The bus will not be picking up in other towns.
Bring your own snacks. This trip is not chaperoned. You are dropped off and picked up at Macy's in NYC. You are on your own to shop, dine, sight-see or catch a show.
The bus leaves promptly at 5:30 a.m. from the parking lot of the Townsend Library, 12 Dudley Road, Townsend, will leave New York City at 6:30 p.m. and should return around 10:30 p.m.
Inclement weather? Bus company will still transport, unless there is a state of emergency.
This trip is open to the public. Confirm your seat at firstname.lastname@example.org and then send payment, with notation NYC trip, to Friends of the Townsend Library, 12 Dudley Road, Townsend, MA 01469. Payment needs to be received by Dec. 1.
We need a minimum of 35 people to break even on this trip. The trip will not happen if we do not have the minimum count.
Friends need core members
The Friends are looking for some new core members! After three years of being the chairman of the Friends, I am resigning to free up my time for other volunteer efforts. The Friends are looking for someone new to take up the role and bring some new friends with them to the group.
The time commitment for the position is, I would say, minimal with only a few hours a month or more if you would like. Please contact the Friends or inquire at the library if you have questions: email@example.com.
The group has been around since 1967 and is such an important part of the library. Please consider helping out in this role and passing the need on to anyone you might think would be interested.
Thank you, Bob Harrison
