The Friends of the Townsend Seniors are looking for that outstanding individual in the Townsend community who has given of himself or herself to the growth and betterment of the town of Townsend.

Candidates will be well-respected and will have demonstrated through actions and deeds a keen interest in the affairs of the town as well as the needs of the Senior Citizens of Townsend.

Candidates are being nominated for the 2013 William E. May Endowment Fund Award, which will be awarded and celebrated at a dinner in October.

Past awardees have been: 2001- William E. May; 2002, Dr.Lawrence Churchville, Jr.; 2003, Roy and Nancy Shepherd; 2004, Jim Clish and Ethel Amiro; 2005, Bob Tumber; 2006, Ed and Mary West; 2007, Hirk and Louise Fortin; 2008, Cornelia "Connie" Giles; 2009, Terry McNabb; 2010, Lt. David Profit; 2011, Avis Roy; 2012, Russ Moore.

Nomination forms are available at the Senior Center, McNabb's Pharmacy, and the Town Clerk's office or by calling the Senior Center at 978- 597-1710.

Nomination forms should be placed in a sealed envelope, marked William E. May Award Nomination and mailed to Friends of Townsend Seniors, P.O. Box 972, Townsend MA 01469 or dropped off at the Senior Center. They must be received by Friday, June 7, 2013.

If someone was nominated in the past and not selected, please consider re-submitting that individual for consideration.
