Veterans Day: Townsend VFW Post 6538, its Ladies Auxiliary and its Men's Auxiliary and American Legion Post 199 and its Ladies Auxiliary will honor all those Americans who currently serve in the military and all veterans of earlier generations, including those who paid the ultimate sacrifice to maintain our country's freedom at a Veterans Day ceremony at the VFW Park Monument in West Townsend beginning at 11 a.m. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Light refreshments ill follow.
Flag retirement: A Flag Retirement Ceremony will be conducted outside the VFW Post Home at 2 p.m. on Veterans Day. All Scouts are invited to participate and residents of all ages are invited to come to observe the proper way to respectfully dispose of tattered, torn and faded American flags in a meaningful ceremony.

Ashby Well adult clinic: Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in conjunction with the Ashby Board of Health, announces that a Well Adult Clinic will be held free of charge for the general public from noon to 1 p.

Holiday craft and greens fair
Immerse yourself in a feast for the senses at the 11th annual indoor Holiday Craft & Greens Fair on Saturday, Nov. 17, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Hosted by the Townsend Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, this bright and colorful fair is a popular stop-over for early holiday shoppers due to the delightful wares of many gifted independent crafters, freshly made greens baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas, home-made apple and pecan pies, as well as a variety of other home-made baked goods, you can also bid on a wide variety of themed gift baskets.
After you have taken a break for lunch at the Jingle Bells Bistro, you can go on to shop for books and take a chance on winning $300 in our cash raffle -- you can't win if you don't play. Before you leave, don't forget to stop by and visit with Santa who is very excited to spend time with the kids before he has to head back to the North Pole.

Household hazardous waste collection
Harvard residents may bring hazardous materials for disposal to the Devens Regional Household Hazardous Products Collection Center at 9 Cook St. (rear) on the first Wednesday and following Saturday of each month (Nov. 7 and Nov. 10), from 9 a.m. to noon, except for holidays and weather-permitting.
The cost for residents is $20 for up to five gallons or five pounds of material.
Businesses must pre-register.
