TOWNSEND -- United Methodist Church will host a Holiday Fair and Tours on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fair includes baked goods, crafts and gifts, a silent auction, Santa's Attic with good used items, and lunch of beef stew, chowder, hot dogs, and desserts, which will be served all day.

Tour guides will tell of the 1770 building and will take visitors up into the bell tower to view the "slave pews" and point out artifacts of early meetinghouse and church days. History buffs will see beautiful old chestnut beams, and "hear" the echo of men practicing their marching drills during the Revolutionary War days. Children and adults alike will enjoy pulling the rope to ring the 1876 bell. Be sure to bring along your cameras!

The church is at 265 Main St. For information call 978-597-2486.
