TOWNSEND -- Townsend Scout groups will host he lawn party at the Townsend Military band's Thursday, Aug. 14, concert on the Townsend Common.

Boy Scout Troop 10 will be selling grilled hot dogs, hamburgers and Italian sausages, hot coffee and cold bottled water and assorted sodas. Boy Scout Troop 81 will be offering fried dough, French fries and popcorn for sale.

The Squannacook Girl Scouts will be doing face-painting and have a decorate-your-own-cupcake concession. The co-ed Venture Crew 30 will be operating a soda bottle ring toss game.

Cub Pack 11 will have a bounce house and several games including sponge toss, bottle toss, ring toss, basketball toss and a fishing pond set up on the Common for the enjoyment of children at the concert. They will also have a bake table.

The band will open its concert at 7:30 p.m. by starting with "Opus 99" march by Prokofieff.

Olivadoti's "Hall of Fame" march, Anderson's "Rakes of Mallow," and several patriotic tunes will be performed before the concert is concluded at 9:30 p.m. with the playing of the Star Spangled Banner."
