He cheated. She cheated. They fought about money.
Speculation rained heavy Tuesday after a rep for Michael Strahan confirmed that the co-host of "Live! With Kelly and Michael" and fiancee Nicole Murphy had ended their five-year engagement.
"They love each other very much," the rep said, "but with the distance and work schedule it has been hard to maintain the relationship."
That may not be the entire story behind the Aug. 1 breakup.
Photos surfaced Tuesday on TMZ of Murphy snuggling with former NBA star Jim Jackson while vacationing in early July in Puerto Rico. The star of "Hollywood Exes" reportedly has said she suspected Strahan of cheating on her around this time.
Meanwhile, sources told the New York Post that a dispute over money came to a head when Strahan requested a prenup. "Nicole was unwilling to sign a prenup, even though Michael has consistently been very generous to her," the source said.
The Post's Page Six noted that Strahan helped her financially after she gave her divorce settlement from Eddie Murphy to Troy David Stratos, who allegedly persuaded her to unwisely invest the money overseas.
Strahan and Murphy reportedly broke up the day before he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The split also means the family won't write their own version of the "Brady Bunch." Strahan is the father of four, while Murphy has five children.
