Hannah Dixon went 3-for-5 with 2 RBI and scored the winning run for the Panthers, who came from behind to topple Littleton in extra innings. Senior captain Sydney Brinkerhoff chipped in with a 2-for-5 performance and a game-high 4 RBI. Megan Esielionis also went 2-for-5 with 2 RBI in the win. Kassie Breest pitched a complete game with three-strikeouts.
St. Bernard's 5
The Bernardians built a 5-0 lead on Monday, then survived the Trojans' four-run sixth inning. Zach Merchant went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and a run to lead the offense, while Joe Feckley was effective on the mound, cruising through the first five innings before surrendering three earned runs in the fifth on back-to-back home runs by Ben Veno and Zane Atwood. Bromfield starter Andre Weber picked up the loss scattering five runs on eight hits and three walks.
Groton-Dunstable's Alex Marken and Nick D'Angelo paced the Crusaders' offense with two hits and two RBI. The Crusaders fell in the 11th inning to Fitchburg, who was winless in its last 49 games.
Groton-Dunstable picked up its only match-point in a No. 2 singles win by Maggie Wertheimer, who def. Ashley Kiel, of Shrewsbury, in a dramatic tiebreaker (6-2,1-6,10-5).
St. John's 11
At the half, G-D (5-6) was leading undefeated St. John's, 5-2, but lost the lead in the third quarter and couldn't regain it.
Junior PJ Kendall played well in goal for Groton-Dunstable with 13 saves, while Quintin Forbes led the Crusaders on offense with two goals and one assist.
Also playing well for G-D were Tristan Lynch and Zach Cotoni, who each tallied one goal and one assist.
North Middlesex 11
Maddy Ozog had 7 goals and an assist for North Middleses. Kimmie Zuccaro added two goals. Freshman goalie Katie Babineau played exceptionally well in net for North Middlesex, saving 16 shots.
Nicki Wilkinson collected four goals and three assists to power the Groton-Dunstable girl's lacrosse squad Tuesday against Tyngsboro.Sara Walsh added five goals and one assist, Liv Rubeski earned two goals and four assists, and Sophie Irby claimed four goals and an assist. Maria Antonellis stopped nine shots for Groton-Dunstable.
North Middlesex 90
Double winners for North Middlesex (4-0) were: Anton Dotson (100, long jump), Chris Brouillette (discus, shot put), Mike Niemi (110 hurdles, 400 hurdles) and Chris Skelly (mile, 2-mile). The Patriots also won both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays.
