Meet 17-year-old forward Connor McDavid, a Canadian playing junior hockey for the Erie Otters. McDavid is likely to go first in the 2015 NHL draft, and for good reason. He's been called the NHL's “next big thing,” and was compared to Sidney Crosby — by Crosby himself.
Why is he so highly rated a full year before he's eligible to be drafted? Because McDavid, who won gold in the 2013 World Under-18 Championships in Russia, can do things like this. Watch him undress this defender and score in Erie's 11-2 win Wednesday. McDavid also registered three assists.
