Officially, Timberwolves rookie Gorgui Dieng scored no points in Minnesota's 106-97 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder Wednesday. But he did put the ball in the basket.
With the game tied at 77 in the closing seconds of the third quarter, Oklahoma City's Derek Fisher threw up a 3-pointer that seemed to be off target. There was Dieng, though, to tip it in – for the wrong team.
Officially, it counted as goaltending, but that didn't make it any less embarrassing.
In case you were wondering, Thunder forward Kevin Durant credited Dieng's mistake with “[giving] us a boost” going into the fourth quater.
