You've seen buzzer-beaters. You've seen shots from players falling out of bounds. But you've rarely, if ever, seen a buzzer-beating shot from a player falling out of bounds. Enter Wichita Heights' (Kan.) Ealy Bell.
Chasing a missed free throw with seconds left in a 62-62 game against Southeast High School Tuesday, Bell put up a desperation shot as time expired. Bell nailed the shot while also falling away from the basket.
As Bell said after the game, he was ready for the shot.
“I practice trick shots all the time,” he told Varsity Kansas. “Fading away, just throwing it up there is no problem for me. I saw the backboard when I turned and that's all I needed.”
