When the brackets were announced late Wednesday afternoon, the Bromfield Lady Trojans drew an opponent with whom they are very familiar with, Littleton. Bromfield secured the No.4 seed in the Division 3 Central Mass. District tournament, while the Lady Tigers come into the match as a No.14 seed. Friday marks the third time the two teams have squared off this season.

The Lady Trojans are 1-0-1 in 2012 against Littleton. In their last meeting at Littleton on Oct.1, the two sides battled to a 1-1 draw. Bromfield puts their 6-0-3 record at home on the line Friday. Bromfield head coach Gary Wenger, and his team were hard at work on Wednesday afternoon after the news broke about their first round match up.

During their midweek tuneup, the Lady Trojans fine tuned their attack on goal, corner kicks and set-pieces.

"It's the little things at the end of the season that make the difference," said Wenger. "It is that much harder to score in the postseason, as it is one and done."

In their previous meeting, junior striker Rylee Osgood hammered home the go-ahead goal in the fourteenth minute, but the sore was later leveled by Littleton's Kate Margum with 13:00 left in the first half.

Bromfield is a team who likes to push the ball into the outer wings, and work it inward towards goal. Clara Wang and Reiny Foster do a nice job pushing the Bromfield attack, along with Osgood.

One of the big story-lines for Friday's game will revolve around the condition of the pitch following Hurricane Sandy. Harvard Park's field has been known to retain moisture in previous contests.

Littleton owns a road record of 2-3-2. The Tigers barely scraped into the tournament with a overall mark of 7-6-3, and 2-6-1 in the league. Don't let their record fool you, Littleton should pose a worthy test for the Lady Trojans.

"They're a very fast-paced team. They have some talented girls on the ball," said Wenger. "Friday is going to be a close game, and we want to go out and play out best right from the get-go."
