SHIRLEY -- The Shirley Historical Society is a volunteer organization that cares for artifacts and documents donated from Shirley families from the early days of the town to the present. The collections include ladies' hats and gowns to original American oil paintings, Shaker objects to early corn harvesting and milk processing equipment, and thousands of small everyday items that illustrate life in earlier times.
A fundraiser will be held on Friday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. at the Bull Run. It includes buffet dinner and dessert table, silent auction (many wonderful items from local businesses and craftspeople), and music for your listening and dancing pleasure by the incomparable Summertime Jazz Band.
Tickets are available $50 online at www.bullrunrestaurant.com or by cash or check at the Shirley Historical Society museum, 182 Center Road. Contact us at 978-425-9828, or by email at email@example.com.
