The United Church of Shirley invites you in discovering the reason and purpose behind life.

Come and join us on Sundays from 10:30-11:45 a.m. and discover "What on earth are you here for?"

We will explore some of your questions: If you are wondering why you are unhappy with your life, if you are wondering what life is all about, you want to know how do you deal with pain, regret and the past? If you are worried whether you've wasted your life, this study is for you. We will learn how to invest your life instead of spending and wasting your life. Socrates said, "the unexamined life is not worth living."

This book, "The purpose-driven life," has sold over 30 million copies. It is written in small segments or installments and designed to encourage you to ask questions while challenging you to discover the satisfaction in life. It uses anecdotes, short stories, psychologist insights, philosophical debates and the Scriptures to engage the reader.

We begin the service with songs and prayer. We then dive into this content written by Rick Warren. Refreshments are served after every talk.

Pastor Stephen Nyakairu will lead the sermon series. At the end of 40 days, every reader will know what the purpose of their life is about. We are encouraging our attendees to read the book, "The purpose-driven life".

Come along and join us on this journey, regardless of your faith, tradition and background.

We are a nondenominational church that welcomes people from all different backgrounds. Our hope is that your experience on Sunday morning will help you find the answers you are looking for.

We are also providing a class to help people manage their money. Call the church for information or visit our website at
