The Shirley Friendship Fund is a small community-based group of volunteers that helps Shirley families during Christmastime and when emergencies arise throughout the year. All funding for the organization comes from fundraising and donations.

The deadline for getting an application in to the Shirley Friendship Fund for Christmas help is Nov. 21. The application is for a food basket and children's gifts for Shirley residents that have no other source of holiday help this season.

The pickup day for these items is Dec. 21, at the Shirley Fire Station around the back of the building, between noon and 2 p.m.
