The Shirley American Legion opens its fall events season with a chili supper on Saturday, Sept. 29. It starts at 5 p.m. and will run through 7:30 p.m. or until we run out.
The Legion is at the War Memorial Building at 8 Church Street in Shirley Village and as usual is open to the public of Shirley and surrounding towns. A $5 donation is encouraged for this event. Last year's chili supper was a big hit, as there were many varieties of chili served.
Chili contributors are welcome for this supper. If you or a friend have a killer chili recipe and are willing to cook up a batch (crock pots), please contact us to offer up your version. In addition to chili, donations of corn bread and desserts are welcome as well. Please call the American Legion at 978-425-4888 or Charles Church at 978-425-0336 so this can be as much fun as last year's supper.
In addition, hall rentals are available (200-person capacity upstairs and 100-person capacity downstairs) in the War Memorial Building for many kinds of events -- baby showers, weddings and receptions, anniversary parties, dances, sweet 16, dinners, graduations, etc.
Thank you for your support of all veterans.
