PEPPERELL —Members of the Pepperell Garden Club held their annual plant sale at the Pepperell Senior Center last weekend.

Shoppers lined up as early as an hour ahead of the opening to purchase many of the hardy perennials that came from the garden club members' garden. One shopper from Manchester, New Hampshire, comes each year for the herbs and vegetable flats. The plant sale is the sole fundraising event for the Pepperell Garden Club.

All proceeds support the club's community educational and beautification projects. Numerous informative programs are open to the public from all towns. Members maintain beautification projects including the rotary, plantings on Main Street, Town Hall, VFW as well as containers throughout the town. Holiday greens and wreaths on public buildings and two scholarships for local graduating high school students are also an annual doing of Pepperell Garden Club.

The Pepperell Garden Club welcomes new members from all towns. Meetings are the second Wednesday of the month beginning in September through May. Members visit gardens during the summer to enjoy the beauty of others. Meetings are held at the Pepperell Senior Center at 6:45 p.m. For information visit pepperellgardenclub.org.
