The landscaping at the Pepperell Police Station had been neglected due to loss of funds, and was in much need of care. Pepperell Garden Club members Christine Brooks and Julie Danforth headed the committee that came up with ideas for sprucing up the front areas. Plans were set in motion. Bids were requested from local landscape/horticulture companies. Kazanjian Horticulture Contractors was chosen to trim the shrubs, remove weeds and debris, and to apply the dark mulch. Club members will be adding a limited number of colorful flowers and shrubs to the areas; but the winter snow and space needed for its removal, and the sand and salt used in the winter that ends up in the garden areas will not allow for too many. Funding for this project was made possible by the Club's successful plant sale in May. Thank you to all who attend their annual sale. Your purchases make it possible for Pepperell Garden

Club members to keep the rotary gardens, town hall gardens, clocktower garden, VFW memorial garden, and the many planters along Main Street colorful and beautiful. If you enjoy gardening or would like to learn more about plants and gardening, consider attending the next PGC meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 6:45 p.m. at the Pepperell Senior Center. All are welcome. This is the club's 50th anniversary year. For more information, check out www.pepperellgardenclub. org COURTESY JOANNA REAGAN
