PEPPERELL -- The 9th Annual Pepperell Business Association's Duck Race has been rescheduled to Sunday at 2 p.m.

The race, originally planned for last Sunday, June 9, was pushed back due to heavy rain, which raised the water level on the Nissitissit River.

"It would have been unsafe to be in the river," said Pepperell Business Association President Derek Ten Broeck.

There are cash prizes for the top three finishers in the race, including $1,000 for 1st place.

The remaining money goes toward scholarships for seniors from North Middlesex Regional High School and Nashoba Valley Technical High School.

Tickets are still being sold until the race at Ten Broeck Insurance Group, Pepperell Family Pharmacy, North Middlesex Savings Bank, C.W. Lorden Real Estate and Pepperell Music Center.

Tickets will also be sold at Shattuck Oil on the day of the race.
