Occupation: Cat; retired vagabond

Why do you come to the library? Since my rescue from the woods about a year ago, I don't get outside much anymore, so I love all the things I can do from home. I can download e-books and audio books right to my e-reader, and I love looking through all the databases online. My favorite is A to Z World Travel, because it shows me information about countries all over the world, which reminds me of my days as a wandering kitty. Sometimes I check the library's Facebook page, too, and look at photos of all the awesome events.

What do you geek? I geek animal rescue!

The Lawrence Library geeks animal rescue, too! June is Adopt A Cat Month, and Saturday, June 1, is Adopt-a-Cat Day at the library. The Pat Brody Shelter in Lunenberg will be bringing in some furry friends that are in need of homes and selling cat toys to benefit the shelter.

Stop by to meet the cats and learn about pet adoption from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library will be collecting donations of pet food, toys, litter and bedding for the shelter throughout the month as well as donations to help with the shelter's operation.

We also keep a donation jar to benefit the Humane Society for Greater Nashua near the circulation desk to help animals in need. We hope to see lots of kitties finding their forever homes this month!

The library can help everyone explore the things they geek. For information, or if you are interested in being the Geek of the Week, stop by Lawrence Library.
