WESTFORD -- Kaitlyn May of Pepperell and Devin Carter of Townsend have been selected as October's Students of the Month at Nashoba Valley Technical High School.
Kaitlyn May, daughter of Joe and Claudine May, is a junior in the Health Assisting program. She is a high-honors student and was inducted into the National Honor Society as a sophomore. She is a freshman mentor, captain of the soccer team and a key member of the basketball team. She plans to attend college after graduation to become an emergency-room nurse.
Kaitlyn was nominated by English Instructor Dan Ford, who wrote: "Kaitlyn is a hard worker who always completes her work on time or early, and it always is of high quality. Her prowess is not limited to academics.
Devin Carter, son of Brent and Nicole Carter, is a senior in the Culinary Arts program. He is president of the Horticulture Club, a captain of the cross-country team and a member of the spring track team. He is also a longtime Boy Scout who is working toward becoming an Eagle Scout.
Devin was nominated by Chef-Instructor Jeremy Bussiere, who wrote: "Devin comes to shop every day with a positive attitude and is very polite and respectful. We can always count on him to help with any tasks in the kitchen, as well as in the dining room. We are lucky to have Devin as a part of our Culinary program."
