My name is Lisa Ferolito, and I am excited to be running for town clerk in Pepperell and ask for your vote this April. I have lived in Pepperell for 15 years with my husband Patrick and two boys. Since arriving to the town of Pepperell, I have enjoyed the sense of community and small-town feel the town offers and would work hard as your town clerk to ensure that does not change.
My experience and qualifications for this job are uniquely matched to assist in a smooth transition. I have a degree in paralegal studies and have extensive years of experience working in the legal field. This experience will be beneficial to the town and the role as town clerk, which requires the ability to correctly interpret Massachusetts General Laws along with the many rules and regulations promulgated by the various state agencies.
I am also actively involved in the town as a volunteer and board member of PACH Outreach. My children are in the North Middlesex school system, where I have volunteered through the years. I have extensive experience as an elected official and clerk of the Charter Commission. In this role, I work closely with the town administrator and the town clerk to ensure the commission follows the Public Meeting Laws, that meetings are accurately documented and to assist the commission to ensure there is the highest degree of transparency for this process. My experience on the Charter Commission has given me invaluable experience with town government, including working with the attorney general's office, the Department of Revenue and the Department of Housing and Community Development.
The position of town clerk is extremely important for the town of Pepperell and, in many cases, the first point of contact for people relocating to our town. The person elected to this position is the face of our town to outsiders. If elected, I plan to continue to provide the outstanding customer service both Jeff Sauer and Lois Libby have provided during their terms as town clerk. I plan to continue to automate and upgrade systems to help provide superior services to Pepperell residents.
Please vote for me on April 28.
