The Ayer Finance Committee currently has two open positions in need of dedicated volunteers.
The Finance Committee serves the legislative body of town meeting, reviewing activity, providing information and making recommendations on all financial matters. In addition, the committee works for financial efficiency in the town by implementing financial policies, a 5-year budget model and reviewing financial procedures.
The committee meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. Additional meetings do occur during budget preparation and leading up to town meeting.
The Finance Committee is appointed by the moderator after recommendation by a review committee. Members of the Finance Committee must be registered to vote in the town of Ayer. Committee members cannot hold an elected office in town or be a town employee. No financial experience is necessary, simply a willingness to volunteer time and effort.
Interested residents should send a letter of intent to committee chairman Scott Houde. Please include your background, work experience and why you want to serve on the committee.
Chairman, Ayer Finance Committee
