Town of Ayer Fourth of July Celebration 2013 Committee extends a huge thank you.

Again, couldn't have done it without you -- the Ayer Board of Selectmen, for all your support and encouragement; Doug Jasperson, DPW and crew, for all your assistance setting up the parade and field events, i.e. tents, stage, barriers and cleanup!

A great big thank you to Dave Maher for his leadership and organizational skills co-chairing this year's committee along with Jim Fay, who has served on the committee for many years; Chief Pedrazzi and his department for their expertise with the fireworks display.

Let's hear it for Central Maine Pyrotechnics for their outstanding display and a big thank you to the Fire Department as well for first-aid coverage throughout the day and into the night; Chief Murray for your attention to detail with traffic coverage and safety patrols during the parade and into the evening hours; and, of course, our own Grand Marshal Pauline Hamel, Doug Becker and Don Swope/APAC for live coverage of the Fourth; Maureen Parlon, chairing the children's carriage and bicycle event and being personally responsible for all those happy faces; and last but not least ... Parade Committee Chairman Alan Wilson and his partner, Cindy Knox, who was largely responsible for the wonderful website information and press releases.

What would this town do without you wonderful people?

Thank you for our fabulous raffle table under the auspices of Marion Smith's decorative hands; Ruth Rhonemus for her wonderful organizational skills. A special thank you goes out to Marion Smith for her jack-of-all-trades hat she wears so well and willingness to help out wherever needed. Thank you to the Ayer Park Commissioners and Jeff Thomas for their invaluable assistance, along with Mike Harmon's electrical magic and a host of the wonderful food and craft booths adding to the day's events. Entertainment and fireworks were incredible.

Each year, the committee strives harder and harder to bring you the best entertainment possible. This year, we brought you the fabulous "Down City Band" from R.I. (featuring our very own Dave Maher) along with the Nashoba Valley Band with their traditional Fourth of July presentation.

When you see any one of the above mentioned people, please stop and thank them all for a job well done.
