I am very happy to announce that the Groton Senior Center has partnered with Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry in Devens, and we are now a drop-off site for donations. Loaves & Fishes is a wonderful organization that provides food and temporary support services to residents of Ayer, Devens, Groton, Harvard, Littleton and Shirley. The Groton Senior Center is open for donation drop-off Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On the third Wednesday of each month, the Groton Woman's Club generously shops, cooks and serves a free luncheon at the Senior Center, which is followed by entertainment. We would like to ask that beginning in April, each person attending the Woman's Club Luncheon bring one item to be donated to Loaves & Fishes. The most needed items are canned meats, canned white tuna, helpers, boxed potatoes, boxed flavored rice, canned pears, canned pineapple, ketchup, mayonnaise, pasta, pasta sauce, shampoo and conditioner, toothpaste and deodorant.
This small gesture could help so many in need.
