BOLTON - Registration for the Tom Denney Nature Camp Summer 2019 program is now open. The camp is for students entering grades 1-8.
It is a unique camp experience that offers five weekly sessions of fun and learning in the natural setting of Bolton's Bowers Springs conservation area.
The goal of our camp is to create a safe, enjoyable outdoor learning experience that provides opportunities for children to learn about themselves and develop understanding, respect and responsibility for the environment in which they live while making new friends, taking on new challenges and having fun.
Activities include swimming, group games in the field and woods, Mystery Animal, Predator and Prey, The Amazing Race, arts & crafts, songs, tracking, scavenger hunt, hiking, exploring, campfires, building a shelter and more.
Campers entering grades 6-8 may choose to participate in the Eco Adventures program where they will play kayaking games on the pond, laser tag in the woods, sleep overnight in the big tent and play night games and roast marshmallows, have a raft building competition, go an adventure hike, do team building activities, have a weekly surprise activity and more.
Counselors-in-training must be entering grade 9 or above, and attend Orientation July 1-3 and then choose two weeks of camp. There are five weekly sessions that run Monday through Friday (July 8-Aug. 9) from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
