AYER -- Town Administrator Robert A. Pontbriand welcomed the Premiere Sponsors of the 2017 Holiday Lights Display last week at Ayer Town Hall. The sponsors joined Pontbriand and Community and Economic Development Director Alan Manoian.

"On behalf of the Board of Selectmen, I want to thank all the corporate premiere donors. Without the support of our Ayer business community, the lights display would not be possible," Pontbriand said. "I would also like to thank my assistant, Ms. Carly Antonellis for coordinating the entire program, which is now in its third year."

Manoian stressed the importance of collaboration between the local government and the business community.

"Strong and trusted local public/private partnerships come about through shared vision to achieve great things for our community by working together," Manoian said.

All Premiere Sponsors are AMSC, Catania Spagna, Dunkin Donuts, EPIC Enterprises, GFI Partners, Nashoba Valley Medical Center, Nasoya, Seven Point of Massachusetts.

The Holiday Lights Display features approximately 20,000 lights at the Ayer Rotary, the downtown decorative light posts and the decoration of the Town Hall and the tree in front of Town Hall.

Since the inception of the Holiday Lights Program, the Town has hosted a Holiday Tree Lighting and Downtown Candle Light Stroll, which had over 400 attendees in December of 2017.

The Town of Ayer appropriates $10,000 annually for the Holiday Lights Display. The remainder of the funds is raised through individual and corporate donations.
