TOWNSEND -- The Townsend Community Couples Club will host the lawn party at the Townsend Military Band's Thursday, June 22, concert on the Townsend Common.

Proceeds from the lawn party will be used to fund the Couples Club annual scholarship to be presented to a 2018 North Middlesex Regional High School graduating senior from Townsend as well as supporting other worthwhile community projects.

Couples Club members will cook hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and sausages with peppers and onions to sell to those attending the concert. Potato chips, hot coffee, and cold soda and bottled water will be available for purchase.

A wide selection of home baked goods will be offered for sale.

Children attending the concert may win prizes by playing a variety of games set up on the Common that evening for their enjoyment.

The Townsend Military Band will open its concert at 7:30 p.m. by playing Hall's "American Cadet March" and "The Lion King Selections" arranged by Higgins. The "Titanic Selections" arranged by Custer, the "West Side Story Selections" arranged by Duthon, and the "Hollywood Milestones Medley" arranged by Higgins will be performed. "Pixar Movie Magic" arranged by Brown and King's "Aviation Tournament March" will be included in the first portion of the program.

Following intermission "The NC-4 March" by Bigelow and "Sea Songs" by Vaughan Williams will be played.


The "Oliver Selections" arranged by Leyden and the "Colonel Bogey March" arranged by Alford will be performed before the Townsend Military Band concludes its concert at 9:30 p.m. by playing the "Star-Spangled Banner."
